About Defiant Graphics

I specialise in digital illustration and use Adobe creative apps for image manipulation, drawing, and making graphic elements. My main focus is on stylised portraits where I’ll take an ordinary photo and give it an artistic transformation by applying a number of visual enhancements and striking effects. Generating a traditional hand crafted look is what I often strive for and it’s a great way to liven up an otherwise mundane and simple image.

As much as the digital world has brought it’s benefits, my understanding of the creative craft has mainly come through study of traditional fundamentals in art and design. This greatly influences my approach and I’ll usually sketch out ideas and concepts on paper first before jumping onto the computer.

I’m a big an of the production aspect of visual media such as film, animation, videogames and merchandise. It’s great to see the creative process and journey take place, witnessing the decision making, concepts and creation of all the aesthetic elements. There are many artists involved and it’s inspiring to see how significantly they contribute to the effort. My personal ambition is to be part of such an environment and collaborate with creative minds and talented artists
